What person has ever experienced high anxiety or tremendous frustration at some point in their life? You may have experienced such incidences by the way of a job, finances, family situation …etc. The list can go on and on. In most cases, we really find it hard to reduce our stress levels because we focus so much on the situation not realizing the effect that it has on our body.
Our brain and nervous system works together through our emotions and they constantly communicate with one another. It took me a long time to realize that our emotions dictate how our bodies feel. For me, every time I worried it caused my hair to be dry and brittle and then my hair eventually broke off. For others, worry may cause them to eat or not eat but in any case, worrying sends signals to our brains to disrupt the true functioning of our bodies.
We must work on keeping our mind and emotions healthy, which is not always an any easy task but it can be done. How do I work on my mind and emotions?, you might ask. I’m glad you did! Here are some ways I gained control of my mind and body and become vulnerable to the healing process. Lets start with Meditation.

Mediation has helped me tremendously. Mediation has been a powerful tool that enabled me to sit in silence and inner stand what were some of the root issues I was dealing with. In doing this, it caused a deeper revelation within myself to want to know more about me, so that I could make the necessary changes in my life to flourish in peace and not turmoil. The best way to describe mediation is, “it’s a communion between your mind and inner soul”, allowing them to marry together through mediation.
Deep-breathing is another tool that I use to maintain a healthy mind and healthy emotions. Deep- breathing is something we need to do often. Deep- breathing sends a message to the brain to calm you down and to relax you. Deep breathing also reduces stress and tension. I love taking deep breathes because it immediately causes me to relax and bring clarity to my mind. The best thing about deep breathing is that its free and you can do it anytime and anywhere you want ☺

Finally, Visualization and positive thinking are also great tools that benefit our peace of mind. Most people pair these two characteristics with materialistic things. I want to change that. I take moments and visualize the realness of where I am in the moments of my life. For example: Where am I at physically in my emotions and in my mind? What can I do differently about my thoughts, actions, etc.? Therefore, choose to grow from there and use creative positive thought for every negative visual realization you see about yourself.
When you take all three of these things and apply them to your life you will began to experience freedom in mind and spirit. Emotionally, you will become sound to understand where your feelings are in the moment. I hope that you find this blog helpful and continue to bond with me with a cup of tea.
